In this election I would have voted NDP. My base reason for this choice is my chosen career. I am planning on going into a career in Stage Management, and under the NDP party the arts generally recieve higher amounts of funding along with more stimulus for jobs. Along with this as a Stage Manager I will be a member of the Actors Equity Association, which is the equivalent to an Actors Union. Since the NDP is pro-union, I will also be benefitting from that portion of their government.

The voting turnout for this recent election is something that greatly worries me for the one reason. The voting turnout is continually getting lower, and the voting turnout for hte recent election does not deviate from this pattern. If is pattern continues the voting population will not be properly represented. Causing larger issues for the general populus.

I feel as  a young person in BC that the reason why the youth voter turnout was so low is because the youth are not shown enough how voting can benefit them. Last week I read an unfortunate status of facebook, quoted here  "So, I'm eighteen.. and I'm allowed to vote... but I didn't. So, yeah. I won't be responsible for any shenanegins that may occur." Later in the comment section after a barrage of discourabeing comments by her older friends she stated "Boo hoo. Nobody deserved the vote.. The world's going to shit anyway. I'm not going to vote for something I don't believe in. My personal opinion. I just don't see the point in voting for a leader. Damned if I do, damned if I don't I guess." This belief supports that there are only a few real partys that one can vote for, there are many partys with many views. However the youth do not seem to understand this or have enought understanding to research the information.

Finally, the reason why the pollsters were wrong is because of the lack of voters in this past election. If more people had voted  it is likely that the elected government would have been an  NDP government.
